NC State Online Adds Ag Science Undergraduate Degree

For decades, NC State Online and Distance Education has provided high-quality instruction to students near and far. Now with more than 120 programs, NC State Online removes barriers to education caused by a variety of life circumstances.

The new fully online agricultural science undergraduate degree program furthers NC State’s land-grant mission by reaching the citizens of North Carolina where they are while allowing flexibility for other responsibilities.

The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) creates the first online undergraduate degree that can be completed entirely online from start to finish. According to John Dole, CALS director of academic programs, students will also have the option to take on-campus courses or attend a local community college and finish their four-year degree at NC State.

Unique to the ag science degree, students strengthen their individual and team leadership skills giving them a strong foundation in the workforce. This paired with broad agriculture expertise sets CALS grads apart from their competition.

120+ Online and Distance Education Programs

This new ag science undergraduate online program joins a growing number of degrees, graduate certificates and teacher licensures available through NC State Online. Most notably in the undergraduate arena, the Leadership in the Public Sector bachelor’s degree-completion program is ranked No. 10 in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. Multiple graduate degrees in engineering, business and education also garner high ranks each year.

With a strong commitment to quality online education from faculty, staff and the university as a whole — NC State Online will continue to offer world-class experiences to students near and far for decades to come.
