NC State offers world-class education, taught by renowned professors, to online and distance students who desire to further their education with the flexibility to fit into their busy lives.

Just like our on-campus programs, online and distance education classes engage students in solving real-world problems that pertain to their areas of interest. Students graduate ready to lead the workforce, confident in the knowledge that NC State consistently ranks as one of the best values in higher education.

If you are thinking about applying to a graduate program to advance your education, keep the following dates on your radar:

  • The Master of Biological and Agricultural Engineering (MBAE) is intended for working professionals who seek advanced study beyond the undergraduate level but are not interested in pursuing a career in research. This program is currently focused toward environmental engineering, but bioprocess engineering interests can be accommodated as well. The deadline for consideration for the fall semester of 2023 is June 25.
  • The Master of Forest Biomaterials (MFB) emphasizes both technical and management skills and is designed for working professionals who seek career advancement. Professionals can also pick and choose courses, as non-degree students, that will especially benefit their immediate projects and career goals. The deadline for consideration for the fall semester of 2023 is June 25.
  • The Department of Horticultural Science has two programs with an upcoming deadline. The Graduate Certificate in Horticultural Science is an individually designed program in horticultural science. The Master of Horticultural Science is a non-thesis degree designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of horticultural science and practices. The deadline for consideration for the spring semester of 2024 is Aug. 1.
