Military and Veterans Resources

NC State University has a long and proud tradition of serving the needs of veterans, active duty military personnel and their families. We value the dedication of servicemen and women to our country and are honored that you are considering NC State as you review all your options for higher education opportunities.

NC State continues to serve a variety of active duty military personnel, veterans and their families through diverse course selections and committed faculty and staff.

NC State offers benefits for veterans and, in some cases, we are able to offer transfer credit for courses from military branch-specific academies and colleges. Military and veteran students can enter at the undergraduate level as transfer students if they have some college credit or meet the minimum course requirements in high school.

Military and veteran students have access to a number of VA Education benefits as well as the GI Bill. Among the benefits available are:

  • Post 9/11 GI Bill
  • Montgomery GI Bill
    • Active Duty (MGIB-AD)
    • Selected Reserve (MGIB-SR)
  • Survivors and Dependents Assistance
    • The Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship
    • The Survivors and Dependents Educational Assistance (DEA)
  • Reserve Educational Assistance Program (REAP)
