Academic Support Resources

NC State provides several university resources to support your academic journey and prepare you for career success. The resources you find helpful may differ depending on your academic and career goals. See below for some of the resources that are available to you depending on your educational goals.

  • Interested in an online and distance education program, but not yet admitted?

    Find your program of interest on our explore programs page and click on program details. Here you will find the program contact of your interested program who is your best source of information.
  • Admitted to an online and distance education program?

    You will be assigned an advisor by your program. Look up your advisor and their contact information in MyPack Portal.
  • Applying to the Graduate School?

    For information about applying to a graduate program or help with your Graduate School application, contact the Graduate School.
  • Need advising services?

    Advising services are available to all online and distance education degree students and certificate students. Advisors are assigned by your program. Non-degree studies students, not assigned to a program, may email Academic Advising Programs and Services at academic-advising-programs-services@ncsu.edu for assistance. Undergraduate students may visit University Academic Advising for advising questions.
  • Need a prerequisite approved or waived?

    To enroll in a course that has a prerequisite that you have taken elsewhere, contact the course instructor or the department offering the course.
  • Are you a Non-Degree Studies student with an academic question? 

    Non-Degree Studies students with questions about academic policies and procedures should contact the Student Services Center.
