The Graduate Certificate in Food Safety equips food processing industry professionals with essential knowledge and skills to implement preventive control and hazard analysis measures, which can effectively mitigate microbiological, physical, and chemical hazards. Eligibility

Applicants must have a BS/BA degree or equivalent four-year degree. Core courses for this program have a prerequisite of MB 251/252 (previously MB 351/352) or equivalent microbiology course with lab.

Plan of Study

The Graduate Certificate in Food Science requires a total of 12 credit hours. The credits earned for this program can be applied toward degree requirements for those who are currently or would be later admitted to a Food Science Graduate program.
