As a college counselor, you will perform tasks such as evaluating student abilities, interests and capabilities using tests, records, interviews or professional sources as part of admissions processes or providing guidance after admittance. You may plan and promote orientation programs, student activities, student support or career and employment-related programs and events. The Master of Education (M.Ed.) in College Counseling and Student Development opens the door to a wide range of administrative, interactive and advisory roles in higher education, all of which entail engaging with students, faculty and staff in ways specific to your role at the college.
