The Master of Animal Science degree equips you for community college teaching positions, working as an extension agent, and a variety of agribusiness and food production positions.
If you are interested in regulatory policy or enforcement, you can find employment in state and federal agencies working as a research associate, nutrition consultant or breeding consultant. Animal scientists interested in conservation or animal husbandry may find opportunities in zoos, research facilities or wildlife sanctuaries. Others may pursue work in animal nutrition research, feed mill management positions, animal feed research and development, or as animal husbandry consulting. Many go on to earn a doctoral degree.
