The Poole College of Management's Master of Management, Risk and Analytics concentration (MRA) equips students for strategic leadership roles in a data-driven world. With data analytics booming across all industries, and the reality that all organizations face risks, risk management and analytical skills are becoming core competencies for every business leader.

Our new, innovative curriculum prepares students to succeed in a wide range of leadership functions by helping them develop important capabilities to proactively identify emerging risks and strategically position the organization for success. Equipped with the relevant skills and knowledge to evaluate potential risks and make informed strategic decisions, our graduates can tackle any challenge and strengthen any organization.

Designed with working professionals in mind, our fully-online program includes 30 credit hours that can be completed in 18-30 months.

  • Work with faculty in our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Initiative and Business Analytics Initiative (BAI). With both academic experience and relevant industry expertise under their belts, you'll get the best of both worlds.
  • Gain insight from industry experts about real-world risk management challenges and learn cutting-edge analytical tools and business solutions from leaders applying risk management best practices throughout their organization.

Eligibility

Students are admitted to the program twice a year, for Fall and Spring semesters. An application checklist of required materials and upcoming admission deadlines and events is available on the MRA Admissions webpage. A bachelor's degree in any major from an accredited college or university is required for eligibility in this program.

Plan of Study

Students must complete 30 credit hours to satisfy the degree requirements – including 24 required credit hours and 6 hours of elective courses. Our innovative curriculum focuses on business analytics, risk management skills and practical experience – all in a hands-on learning environment. Students will benefit from our faculty's real-world experience, world-class research and industry partnerships.

Career Prospects

Risk management and analytical skills are becoming an expected core competency for any business leader, regardless of their area of responsibility and leadership, given that they are now accountable for “owning” the management of risks impacting their areas of focus.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics highlights the increasing demand for risk managers, noting that more and more companies are enhancing their risk management practices to limit threats and promote organizational resilience.

Our graduates are well-positioned for a multitude of careers – particularly those involving strategic planning and innovation, financial analysis and forecasting, risk advisory consulting, internal and external auditing, compliance, operations management, business continuity planning, sustainability and innovation and development.
